I am back down, to 156 and my measurements are still shrinking, so I know I am still on track. All things considered I am feeling pretty good about this week and my progress, but I do have concerns looming in the back of my mind...

So this is the fourth straight week in a row that I have been hovering between 156 and 157. It's quite frustrating, particularly because I totally jumped on the scale Sunday morning and saw 155, and last Thursday I saw 155. I know, I just know I can get down past this, but its proving so difficult.

It is also frustrating because for the past 4 months I have had a net loss of 1.6 lbs, that is definitely not on track to reach my goals. Slow and steady I know but I'm becoming worried that if it is so difficult for me to lose weight up in the "overweight" BMI range how will I ever manage to do it down past 150?

Side note this past Saturday was the wedding of one of my high school friends, and I got to reunite with a bunch of people from my past who have seen me at my smallest (and a few at my largest) and the general consensus was that I looked great. If that doesn't make me feel like floating I don't know what would. Maybe I will make a longer post about the event later this week.

  1. Sometimes our body just needs time to adjust to our new body weight especially if you are consistently losing!

Another way I kick started my weightloss again was CHANGING up my exercise. I was only doing light pilates and cardio but once I started doing P90X I've increased my calorie burn and started toning up!

You look very proportional that's a good thing!
I'm glad your mini-HS reunion went well :) I love weddings. I can't wait to see some old HS friends later this month who have never seen me this small. It only motivates me to stay ON PLAN!

    Have a wonderful week.

  2. The proof is in your measurements! Look at you! I can totally see a big change. Scales suck. Go by how your clothes fit and how you feel. I know it's easier said than done (cuz that scale number seems to rule our lives), but...you're looking great. And I'd kill to have a 29 inch waist! Haha!

  3. I agree with the above post - I wish I had thought of recording my measurements too, and not just my weight, when I started out. When you're exercising as well as dieting, you're not just losing fat, but changing the composition of your body. I guess technically someone could spend 6 months at exactly the same weight, but every week would change out a couple of lbs of fat for a couple of pounds of muscle. In that case it wouldn't be the scales that showed you your progress, but your measurements - and yours are going down!

It can be tough to stay motivated on that system though, without being able to tell yourself "I've lost x number of pounds" (which I know is what keeps me going). Just always keep in mind that as long as you take in fewer calories than you use (or use up more calories than you take in), you will be burning your fat away. Your body can't escape the rules of science, so as long as you do that, you will see results!

Good luck, and stick with it!

  4. Hahaha Headspace, I agree about body composition, that is why I measure 3 ways. Scale, Body Fat, and measurements. However my body fat measurement is on my scale so it isn't very accurate. But I just had to laugh because you said the one thing I hate to hear ever "calories in vs calories out" is something I just don't believe. At the very base of things I suppose that is the formula, but our bodies are so much more advanced then that and it is difficult to say what the *TRUE* formula for weight loss is.

Either way, thank you all for the kind words. I just really really really want to see something lower then 155 this week, and it is proving difficult.
